Science On Wheels
Exhibits
We bring a mini science center to you with our portable, tabletop exhibit sets. Each set inspires participants to discover science through a variety of hands-on, inquiry based puzzles, experiments, and activities. Choose from the following sets:
Blood and Guts
Circulate among exhibits that cover
an amazing body of knowledge:
biology! How steady is your
balance? Where is your ulna?
Assemble skeletons, analyze x-rays,
and scrutinize skulls. Tease your
mind with optical illusions and
then look inside a real human
brain! This exhibit includes real
organs from both humans and
animals.
Brain Power: It's All In
Your Head!

As Seen At The 2009
Puyallup Fair Explore
memory, expression, anatomy, drugs,
and perception with these thought
provoking exhibits. Touch a real
human brain (using medical gloves)
and compare it to other animal
brains. Test your reaction time and
tease your senses with optical
illusions. Walk the line with our
"drunk goggles" and learn how
chemicals alter our perceptions of
the world around us. Designed in
collaboration with the University
of Washington Nursing School.
Engineer It!
From tall buildings to microscopic
images, discover the knowledge,
skills and tools used to change our
lives. Construct an arch bridge as
tall as yourself! Make wheels turn
using engines and gears. Learn
about careers in mechanical,
electrical, environmental, and
civil engineering.
Harvesting Science /
Cosechando la Ciencia
Get to the root of the matter with
Harvesting Science! With these
bilingual hands-on exhibits,
explore how science and agriculture
go hand in hand. Can you tell a
good bug from a pest? What kind of
soil grows the biggest crops? How
do machines keep a farm running?
Learn all this and more as you
delve into the wonderful world of
agriculture! A special area for
tots is also available! Call us for
details. (This exhibit is
bilingual, Spanish and English.)
Mathfinder
Math is everywhere, from maps, to
quilts, to fitting toys in a box.
Observe how beautiful fractals
resemble patterns in nature. Piece
together puzzles, from pentominoes
to 3-D buckyballs. How many ice
cream flavor combinations can you
make? What are the chances you will
pull a matching pair of socks from
a dryer? These exhibits remind us
how we use math every day!
Physics On Wheels
It's not magic; it's physics!
Explore amazing phenomena, from
magnetism to magnification and from
pendulums to periscopes. Can you
overcome the strength of an
electric magnet? Watt does it take
to make an electrical circuit?
Physics has it all: light, sound,
electricity, and motion!
Rock & Roll
Rock & Roll is here to stay,
geologically speaking. Delve into
the deepest layers of the earth to
learn about sparkling crystals,
magnetic rocks, and earthquakes.
Explore ancient history when you
step into a dinosaur footprint or
hear a story from a fossil's
perspective. Find out which rocks
glow and how we use them in our
daily lives.
Space Odyssey
Explore meteorites, constellations
and Jupiter's storms in this
interactive exhibit. You can be an
astronomer when you manipulate a
robot arm or look at the surface of
Mars. What would the Big Dipper
look like from the other side of
the universe? How much do you weigh
on Venus? Find out answers to these
questions and more when Space
Odyssey visits you!
