Naturalist in Training

"I feel like an important part of the team to make camp fun and I can't think of a better way to spend my summer" -- Jenn Hagedorn, former camper who has been a Naturalist in Training for the past three summers.

Naturalist in Training
Our Naturalist in Training program is ideal for high school students who are interested in working with kids in a nature-type setting. This program helps teens attain invaluable skills while meeting school service learning hour requirements.

Accepted teens will attend two required Saturday trainings in May and assist with two week-long summer camps at the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue.

Our camp programs run 10 weeks in the summer from the last week of June through the end of August. Recruitment for this popular program ends in mid-April.
