Wild B'earthdays
Wild B'earthdays
Age: 5 years and up - Length: 2-1/2 hours

Celebrate your birthday in the wild. Explore the wetlands, play ecology games, search for wetlands creatures and organize your party festivities in our classroom. Choose from a Bug Safari or Animal Mania theme.

Investigate aquatic creatures in our lab (Bug theme) or explore animal skulls and owl pellets (Animal theme), if inclement weather clouds your b'day.

Party Package includes: 1.5 hour guided hike, a bug box or plaster animal track (depends on theme), invitations, room usage for 1 hour PLUS thematic room decorations, table cloths, plates, cups, forks and napkins. Just bring the food and drinks!

Haunted Hikes

Celebrate Halloween with our popular spooky night time hikes through our hiking trails. Bring the family (and your costumes) to explore how the nocturnal side lives. We run hourly night hikes the weekend before and after Halloween. Pre-registration is required. Dates are Saturday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 30-Sunday, Nov.1. More information available on our

Slough Sleep-ins
Grades: 1-4 (with adults)
Group Size: 12 - 36 participants (1 adult per 5 students)
Time: 6:00pm - 10:00am (Fri-Sat)
Fee: $42/participant.
Join us for an overnight adventure at Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center. Explore our new center and its surrounding wetland with a slew of exciting activities! Our program this year focuses on the amazing adaptations creatures have. Experience the ways creatures survive in the dark as you play games, venture out on a night hike and conduct a series of experiments in our lab. Sleep over in one of our brand new classrooms and then explore the Slough by day during a search for birds and animals. Wrap up your Mercer Slough experience by using nets and our video microscope to discover the creatures that live underwater. Call (206)443-2925 to register your group!
