Discover The Treasures Of NOAA's Ark

Treasures of NOAA's Ark
If you've ever read a weather forecast from the National Weather Service, used a nautical chart while boating, or enjoyed any of our National Marine Sanctuaries then you have come in contact with just some of what NOAA is all about. That's the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. This year, America's oldest scientific agency marks its 200th birthday and Pacific Science Center is proud to be part of the celebration.

2007 is the 200th anniversary of NOAA's root organization, the Coast and Geodetic Survey, started by Thomas Jefferson in 1807. NOAA has a wealth of heritage resources that recall the agency's proud history and legacy of service to the nation. From March 3 through September 23, 2007, artifacts representing that heritage will be on display at Pacific Science Center.
