You Can Make a Difference in the Lives That Follow

Pacific Science Center continues to meet its mission of bringing science and kids together thanks in large part to the many types of support provided by the community. Contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations, as well as gifts of volunteer time and participation in our exhibits, are integral components to the success of the Science Center. Other forms of support that you may not be familiar with are planned gifts, which help provide for the Science Center in the future.

Planned gifts can take many forms, but the simplest one is to use your will to leave a fixed dollar amount or percentage of your estate to the Science Center as a beneficiary. This gift can provide positive tax savings to you and your estate. It may also enable you to make a more significant gift to the Science Center, which will benefit future generations of our young visitors. Your attorney and tax advisor can help you to determine the most appropriate planned gift instrument for your specific situation.

If you are interested in including the Science Center in your will, the first and most important step is to include the following wording in your will or other trust document:

"I devise to Pacific Science Center, whose legal name is Pacific Science Center Foundation, a Washington not-for-profit organization, the sum of $_____ (or _____%) (or all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate or trust) to be used for carrying out its mission."

You will also need to include our federal tax identification number: 91-0750-867.

Your current and future gifts enable the Science Center to serve over one million people each year through our exhibits and educational programs. For more information about supporting Pacific Science Center or how a planned gift can benefit both you and the Science Center's programs, please call the Development Office at (206) 443-3624.
