At our next Queen Anne Science Café, Dr. Steven G. Gilbert with the Institute of Neurotoxicology & Neurological Disorders will discuss the use of oil dispersants in crude oil spills such as currently showcased in the Gulf of Mexico. An Evening To Remember

Last Friday, July 23, nearly 500 people attended the 43rd Annual Festival of the Fountains: A Cosmic Evening Celebrating Science. It was a wonderful evening of celebrating the Science Center's mission, programs, exhibits and, of course, the donors who make it all possible. Pacific Science Center extends our deepest appreciation to this year's Festival Chairs - Mona and Peter Bailey, the Festival Advisory Committee, Board of Directors, and to all the sponsors, table hosts, ticket buyers and donors for making the 43rd Annual Festival of the Fountains a memorable and successful event. Pacific Science Center is pleased to announce the designation of our Seattle campus as a City of Seattle Landmark. The unanimous vote by the City of Seattle's Landmarks Preservation Board was an exciting step toward preserving the legacy of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair as embodied in the Science Center while also recognizing the dynamic programming needs and opportunities for the future. Our campers are learning about naked mole-rats, butterflies, axolotyls and much more. Our staff really enjoys the campers and apparently, the feeling is mutual judging by all the letters we receive.
