Note: Pacific Science Center is famous for interesting
exhibits and science education, but that isn't all that
goes on around here. Did you know that organizations and
individuals rent our facilities for a wide array of events?
From birthday parties to weddings to...you name it. Read on
to learn how a small group of friends ushered in 2008 in
exceptional style and helped fund science education at the
same time.
A group of friends
rented Pacific Science Center's Ackerley Family Exhibit
Gallery to ring in 2008 in style! Party guests snacked on
desserts from the "sweet stuff buffet" and sipped on
champagne while they anticipated the fireworks spectacle to
begin at the neighboring Space Needle. Everyone was having
so much fun that they didn't even notice the annual
fireworks had encountered problems as they danced late into
the night. Event organizer Sara Watson commented that her
guests were excited to attend a festive New Year's Eve
party that allowed theme to give back to the community.
The party theme was
"One Night, One People, One Environment" with profits
raised from the event directly benefiting educational
programs at Pacific Science Center's

Center. The
grand fundraising total came to $7366.88! Pacific
Science Center thanks Sara and her planning committee
for their generous donation and all of the hard work put
into the project. This group knows how to party with a
purpose!
